On modified numerical schemes in vortex element method for 2D flow simulation around airfoils

چکیده
The problem of incompressible steady flow simulation around an airfoil is discussed. For some simplest airfoils (circular, elliptical, Zhukovsky airfoils) the exact solution is known from complex analysis. It allows to compute the intensity of vortex layer which simulates the airfoil. Some modifications of the vortex element method are proposed and test computations are carried out. It’s shown that the these approaches are much more effective in comparison with the classical numerical scheme. Keywords—Vortex element method, vortex layer, integral equation, ill-conditioned matrix.

Simulation of Premixed Combustion Flow around Circular Cylinder using Hybrid Random Vortex
This research describes the unsteady two-dimensional reacting flows around a circular cylinder. The numerical solution combines the random vortex method for incompressible two-dimensional viscous fluid flow with a Simple Line Interface Calculation (SLIC) algorithm for the propagation of flame interface. To simplify the governing equations, two fundamental assumptions namely Low Mach Number and ...
متن کامل2D Numerical Simulation of a Micro Scale Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tube
In this study, fluid flow and energy separation in a micro-scale Ranque-HilschVortex Tube are numerically investigated. The flow is assumed as 2D, steady, compressible ideal gas, and shear-stress-transport SST k-W is found to be a bestchoice for modeling of turbulence phenomena. The results are in a good agreementwith the experimental results reported in the literature. The results show that f...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of the Wake Flow Behind an Ellipse using Random Vortex Method (RESEARCH NOTE)
Direct numerical simulation of the wake flow around and behind a planar ellipse using a random vortex method is presented. Fluid is considered incompressible and the aspect ratios of ellipse and the angles of attacks are varied. This geometry can be a logical prelude to the more complex geometries, but less time dependent experimental measurements are available to validate the numerical results...

In this paper, symmetric water entry of twin wedges is investigated for deadrise angle of 30 degree. Three numerical simulation of a symmetric impact, considering rigid body dynamic equations of motion in two-phase flow is presented. The two-phase flow around the wedges is solved by Finite Element based on Finite Volume method (FEM-FVM) which is used in conjunction with Volume of Fluid (VOF) sc...
متن کاملComputational Study of Unsteady Flows around Dragonfly and Smooth Airfoils at Low Reynolds Numbers
A computational study was conducted to investigate the unsteady quasi-two-dimensional flow around a streamlined NASA low-speed GA(W)-1 airfoil and a corrugated dragonfly airfoil at the Reynolds numbers of 68,000 and 55,000. Both 2D and 3D simulations were carried out by solving the unsteady Navier-Stokes equations to predict the behavior of the unsteady flow structures around the airfoils at di...
